Ok so it has definitely been tooooo LONG since we have looted! But we are still kickin'....

I was just inspired by a very interesting post I found at "Apartment Therapy" so I thought it could be a great idea for out next loot, and perhaps a motivator for you?!...

We ALL have tones of STUFF we bring into our lives and homes that we obviously like... but don't really NEED or use half the time for that matter... so this is a GREAT way of getting rid of some stuff to make room for NEW things in your life... and someone else might as well enjoy them who WILL use them!!!

The idea is simple... I found a few things throughout my home I really wasn't using and threw on a tag saying "If you can use this... Please take it! Otherwise please leave it for someone else!"
Then I chucked them in my car and throughout the day I left them in various places! I hope people find them who will use them and enjoy them (and hey, if that someone was u... let us know!)

Back to school....

Well it's that time of year again... Back to School!
And although it is a new fresh start to learning, and seeing friends, fall etc.
it can still be a bit of a difficult transition... after all the summer is a time
for relaxation, NOT worrying about what you got on that exam paper,
hanging in the sun... YOU'll miss it!!! So we thought we'd give out a few
little things to help with the first few days of school... ease the pain a BIT we hope.

We gathered a "loot load" of Crispy Apples and NEW pencils to take to
the UofS campus ... There, we left them down in the plac riel tunnel
(which MOST people pass through daily)
for keen & un-expecting students and teachers.

However, we did something a little different this time...
we left them by the computer stations with
a "Take one... they're FREE" sign... for people to
FIND as they meander to and from class.
Students love FREE stuff :)

We hit Broadway armed with our wagon, a cooler filled with some yummy Freezies and our smiles. It did NOT take long for the cooler to empty as everyone was eager to take & taste a freezie... but more so for what they stood for... a HOT day, Hurray! Just like the first Slurpee you buy each year... or the first beer you have on a patio one night with friends... soooo gooood!

We were all WISHing we could have been playing hooky today and out running through the sprinklers or laying by the pool... however when that's NOT possible... there are Freezies!!!

We hope these wonderful summer days just keep on comin'... and watch out for our little red looting wagon... we might just be heading your way!

This One Is For The Dogs

Dogs(as well as all other pets) really are mans best friend.They give us so much joy and an immeasurable amount of unconditional love, what more could we ever want.

The sad reality is that there are many people out there who are unable to care for their pets, leaving cats and dogs neglected and homeless.

But all hope is not lost.A New Chance, A New Hope, That's the slogan for New Hope Dog Rescue, a non profit organization here in Saskatoon that has a network of foster homes that provides and cares for dogs in need.

As well as providing foster homes for homeless dogs they also offer financial assistance (for those who qualify) for spaying or neutering your dog. If you are a dog lover( and how could you not be) and have the space and time to volunteer as a foster parent, New Hope Dog Rescue is the place to call.

If fostering is something you are unable to do but still want to help they are always taking donations for medical expenses as well as donation of food, crates, treats, toys and anything else related to dogs. .You can visit their website at www.newhopedogrescue.org/to find out more about this amazing organization.Lovely Loot has dedicated a few loots for the cats of our city and as soon as we heard about New Hope, we knew it was time to do something for the dogs. We scattered the pets stores picking up, treats, bones, food and toys.

We took that, along with a monetary donation and dropped the loot off to one of the New Hope volunteers.It brightens our days to meet and see these loving volunteers at work, time is the greatest donation you can give and many of these volunteers have dedicated their days to helping these amazing creatures in need. We hope New Hope inspires you to go and do what you can, every little bit helps.

A Tisket A Tasket... A loot filled basket!

OK... so we didn't EXACTLY wear "Easter Bonnets" like these lovely ladies, however we did get wee Addie to wear some bunny ears for a few minutes... and we DID hand out tones of "Easter Loot"....

We LOVE Easter!!! And everything about it; the Colors, the Tastes, the feeling that Spring has finally arrived, the Love of family getting together, God's Grace.... it's all great!

All these feelings and more inspired us to spread some cheer.

Sweet treats por Mexican Ninos/Kids

So I was fortunate enough to snag a last minute "get out of cold Saskatchewan" trip to Mexico with my hubby and Wee Addie and knew I we wouldn't be doing toooo much "out of the bubble" traveling, however I wanted to make sure the kids in Playa del Carmen had some little treats to keep them smillin'!
I loaded up my bag with suckers, bubbles, gum, stickers, funky necklace pen's etc. and hit the pavement, +36 out (hot Hot hot)...

I wasn't sure just how many kids I would see in our short 2 hour visit as we were dropped off in the "5th Avenue" district of Playa del Carmen, and I thought I wouldn't see too many kids who could REALLLLY use those treats, however to my surprise and delight... many of the kids WERE there because they were collecting bottles from the local bars and tourists etc. I didn't get toooo many photos as my hubby was pushing our wee hot Addie babe in the stroller and at other times I was hesitant to take some, however here are a few.

The kids were DARLING, at first a little hesitant, but then a smile, a giggle and "Gracious".

While the earth shattering tsunami and earthquake that occurred in Japan has passed, the recovery and the sadness continues. This particular disaster could quite possibly be the most expensive earthquake in history. The people and animals of Japan need our help and that is what we are here to do. There are lots of ways to assist, and it doesn't mean buying a ticket and heading overseas (although that would be great too). You can help right from the comfort of your own home.

Collecting donations at our work place is where we decided to start . The customers and employees at the Broadway Cafe collected just over $420, and it was easy!

We encouraged everyone to take action for compassion and that is what they did. It feels good

to help, it doesn't have to be hard or time consuming and it most certainly is appreciated. We thank everyone for their donations, together with love in our heart and a helping hand we can prevail through the worst of disasters.

Happy St. Patty's Day

Happy St. Patricks Day, or as the Irish say Beannachtai Ne Felie Patraig. St.Patrick's day is one of our favorite holidays because we love dressing up and celebrating our culture. Also the Irish folklore, music, food and drinks that flow freely aren't to shabby either.

St. Patrick's Day, a day to be Irish whether you are or are not, a day to indulge in the tradition of drinking green ale, dancing like a leprechaun and a day for passing on some cheer to those around you.

And so we did!!!... We filled that lottin' basket to the rim with all things green and Irish, goofy glasses, beer mugs, shamrock tattoos, leprechaun stickers, lucky coins and more.

No one is a stranger on St. Patty's day, and that is the kind of crowd we love to loot. The Holidays bring people together and St.Patrick's day is no excepting. It was a treat to see so many happy jolly people out and about enjoying the company of others.
We hope everyone had a fun filled St.Patty's day and only 364 days till the next one!

Winter is long and after the lush green grass has been blanketed by snow for so many months, it's hard to remember just how glorious Spring can be. So today, we set out in the streets of Saskatoon to remind everyone that winter doesn't last forever and that spring will be here soon!

With a lot of love, and a little bit of loot, we became the cheering squad for YOU- yes, you! You have nearly made it through another Saskatchewan winter! Don't let those blues drag you down, because before you know it, the snow will be gone and you will be out in your garden again! So pull up your long johns and know that in just a couple short months, you can retire your hat and mitts for another year! Until then, we hope these treats brought a little Spring to your day!

Good fortune is not something that we obtain but something that we uncover, it can be revealed in the least suspecting moment, in the darkest corner, or in an unexpected experience. In a time where we are surrounded by tragedy it can become tough to see the fortune that surround us...but trust us, it is out there, in every smile, in every chance encounter and in every random of act of kindness.

With gratitude comes fortune, and we, the ladies of Lovely Loot try to actively express our gratitude every chance we get. Being aware and acknowledging the good that comes our way paves the path for more to follow, and it can be a long road of happiness and joy if we continue on with good intentions.

Ring ring those Bells!

Tis the season for Lovely Looting... well it's always the season, but you know what we mean...

With the snow gently blowing and the first sounds of christmas music in the air we thought is was high - time we "Let the Bells ring out" so a-wassailing we did go up and down the streets of Saskatoon leaving colorful bells blowing in the winter breeze for various business to find with delight (we hope :)

There is something so simple, relaxing and beautiful about the sound of a bell ringing. Bells have been used for hundreds of years all over this globe to commemorate important dates and events. We hope these bells ring with meaning of a great day, happy holidays, friends coming and going and meaningful memories in the making.

The ringing of bells can mean many things and are heard through out the day from the moment we are reminded to get out of of bed with the "ding ding" of our alarm clocks. Church bells remind us to bring peace into our hearts, wedding bells signify the blessing of friends. Door bells, school bells...bells, bells, bells, let them ring LOUD, bringing joy and happiness to all.

Lovely Loot-Bags for all

Remember being 8, getting invited to all the birthday and being SO excited for the surprises that lay hidden in the bottom of the lootbags you were given on your way out the door?

WE certainly do, and it's that childlike joy that we often try to recreate with our lovely looting. Being in the Dominican Republic was an amazing experience, the beautiful people warmed our hearts and inspired us to give back to the locals who had unknowingly given us so much. We set aside a couple of days and dedicated it to the children of the villages we were visiting.

We put together bags of treats to hand out, filled with pens and pencils, toys and candy, party favors and love.

Our friends Adalie and Deanna and her dad Luis were happy to help us with our mission to spread some cheer. They led us down an enchanting path in the direction of the school.

It was full of twists and turns, decorated with lush beautiful plants and families working together outside on their day to day duties. The houses varied from colorful concrete structures to tiny broken down houses made from banana leaves.

It was very apparent that the majority of the village was poverty stricken, having the necessities for the day and not much more. More importantly, the smiles and love were abundant with the sound of laughter and chatter buzzing through the warm humid air, the people placing value on each other instead of on things, a good reminder to us all.

We arrived to the school arm and arm with our new friends, the kids watching us with curious eyes from a distance. Luis explained to the teachers what we were there to do and they kindly welcomed the impromptu interruption.

It was a joy to see the wide smiles and the bright eyes of the students light up as they anxiously rummaged through the loot bags discovering a mix mash of treats.

Some classes thanked us with hugs and giggles, others with clapping and song, it was so much fun.

Later that day as we walked through the village it put happiness in our hearts to see the girls adorned with the loot bag jewelry and the boys running around playing with the party favors.

Our mission to give them some extra cheer seemed to be a success, and the happiness it brought us...undoubtedly was.

Lovely Loot goes to the Dominican Republic

Lovely Looting in the Dominican Republic...what an experience.

The Dominican is a nation on the island of Hispaniola sharing the land with its neighbor Haiti. Its a beautiful country with warm friendly people, mountains of green and oceans of blue. It is not considered to be a third world country but we could clearly feel and see the struggle of millions.We were lucky to have the chance to make friends with many of the locals, they told the stories of their past, the effect of the rest of the world on their culture and economy as well as the many many experiences they have about their very own version of lovely loot.

Random acts of kindness are not far and few between in a country that faces many day to day challenges. Everyone looks out for everyone, if you have a coconut tree or mangoes growing in your space and the family down the road does not, you share what you have .

All of the villages we visited were covered with trees bearing fruit, berries and nuts that we had never before seen.Everything is either consumed as food, used as medicine, made into dyes

or crushed and used in body products. Although many of the people have no formal education they are intelligent beyond their years with the wisdom of the land and its people being passed down from generation to generation.

We met a man named Miguel who taught himself to speak at least five different languages, although he himself had never visited any of the countries, he was a wealth of knowledge and had the kindness of a saint. He welcomed us into his home, and treated us like family. We explained what Lovely Loot was about and he was quickly on board explaining where and how we could be most helpful.

The daily Dominican diet constants of necessities like rice, beans, oil and cornmeal so that along with a few other items is what we decided to handout.

We filled the boxes with food and love and headed up the village road. Upon greeting the families we were met with warm smiles and open arms, many of them expressed how far the food would go, called us family and squeezed our hand gently as to say thank you.

Some locals even felt the desire to return the favor, handing us whatever they could,kids running out with fruit from their trees, and one man filling my arms with more coconuts then i could possibly carry. It was a day we wont soon forget.

We may have handed out some food and smiles but the gifts of love and inspiration that we recieved in return were tenfold.

The ladies of Lovely Loot , with a special shout out to Erin, Nanci, Guy, Janet, Ken and all our new Dominican friends...the more the merrier, so many thanks.

Eat local veggies, grow up BIG N' STRONG

We don't want to say it, but fall is shortly creeping upon us. The leaves of the trees are starting to break down and turn beautiful shades of yellow, red and orange. The morning air is cooling and the evening sky darkens earlier and earlier with every passing day. Fall is a beautiful thing, our gardens have grown to the max and are bursting with veggies, ripe for the picking. Not all of us are blessed with a spot to call our own when it comes to gardens so thank goodness for the ever expanding, always bustling Saskatoon Farmers Market.

Today just as the sun was heating up we heading down to the Wednesday market with a blooming basket of sweet peas and green produce bags (the kind that helps preserve your fruits and veggies in a natural safe manor). There's nothing worse then having to toss the once amazing produce that sadly doesn't last as long as we would like so toss it in your green bag and use as you wish. The Saskatoon Farmers Market at Riverlanding has all the vendors you would expect to find and more.

There is a wide variety of locally grown fruits n' veggies, herbs n' spices, jams jellies n' honey and all the baking you can dream of. There is organic meats, locally made yogurts, delicious cheeses and more. If you haven't already, go down and take a look, you'll be glad you did.We hope you all enjoyed your Wednesday at the market, it was lovely to see you!

Wow, all I can say is BRAVO to all you who are out there joining us in "Random act's of Kindness". CBC launched a contest last week and encouraged listeners to write or call in with their stories of random acts of kindness... the response was overwhelming!!!
It is GREAT to know that there are soooo many kindhearted thoughtful people out there willing to lend a hand and reach out to those in need of anything, from help to a smile. We are constantly bombarded with the bad or unfortunate circumstances that affect people around the world, be is war, natural disasters, act's of desperation etc, which makes it extra refreshing to hear about all the amazing people through out this globe taking part in "Random act's of Kindness". There are people who devote their entire lives to helping others and those who do what they can when they can, it all counts in making this world a kinder, happier place to live.
So we the Lovely Loot ladies are humbled by all you have done for our fellow mankind... Keep it up... we will too! And please feel free to continue to let us know how it's going, we love hearing the GOOD News too!

Children's Festival

The colorful tents can be seen from all bridges, the music heard for miles and kids sporting facepaint can be spotted all along the riverbank.

Its time again for the annual Saskatchewan Children's Festival down at Kiwanis Park in Saskatoon, from June 8-12. This year there are acts from all around the globe.

Amazing capoeria dancers from Brazil and various performers from Vietnam, Scotland, UK, and Canada. There's something for everyone, puppetry, dance, circus acts, theater, story telling and dance, so grab the tots and head out for a day of activities.

The ladies of Lovely Loot along with some kind hearted friends will be there volunteering at the main stage show tent and over at the face painting booth, come and join us for some fun

We may not be Ghandi, but we are who we are and that is enough

In a world full of donation boxes, door to door collectors, fundraisers and telethons it can be overwhelming and tough to feel like we are doing our part. Who needs my help the most? What can I do? Where is the best place to send my donation? When can I find the time?

It is often when faced with multiple choices that we have the toughest time making a decision and following through with our intentions. Don't worry, don't beat yourself up, I assure you,YOU are doing your part whether you realize it or not. Its the little things we have been doing for years that add up and make a huge difference in the lives of others and to this planet we call home. We were taught about it in elementary school and loads of us have been doing it ever since, RECYCLING. Every week more and more blue boxes overflowing with recyclables seems to decorate the streets, its wonderful.

That alone is something to feel good about, by helping the planet, we help ourselves and others. Clothing donations boxes on street corners is another thing lots of us do without even thinking about it. I pass a couple of them on my way to work everyday and they are often stuffed to the max with donation for local charities. We clean out our closets and in turn help others put clothes on their backs.

Most of us probably don't even think of those things as random acts of kindness but let me assure you they are. With so many options and charities that need our help in the world today, we can often feel like we are not doing anything to help, but give yourself some credit, focus on what you are doing, and allow yourself to feel good about it. The better we feel about ourselves, the more likely we are to assist others.

Other Random Acts of Kindness we do without realizing

- Complimenting others: Telling someone how much you like the job they're doing, their outfit or new haircut-whatever. Being honest and sincere. Not expecting anything in return, just letting someone know that something they are doing works and moving on.

-Helping someone make the day go by easier: Holding a door for a mom with a stroller, keeping the elevator door open a minute longer so Nana can get herself in, giving your seat away on the bus to the person you can tell needs it more then you

-Greeting others with a grin:A very small gesture we do without thinking that has the potential to turn someone's bad day into a good one. SMILE

-Teaching someone to do something new: Sharing your skills or talent with someone by showing them how to do something new so they can move a little bit towards improved mastery of the world that surrounds us.

From time to time it may seem like we don't have what it takes to make a difference in this world,that it's only the greats like Ghandi or Mother Theresa that can create any sort of real change. So what do you do when Toronto's Finest and Filthiest Rock N' Roll band stumbles through town? Why you Lovely Loot them of course!

You've got four Rock N Rollers driving across the country sharing their music, stuffed into a van with no seats, a well used tape deck and a tired dancing beer can on the dashboard. It sounds classy, and it is but we thought there may be a few essentials that could make the journey a bit more comfortable. So we filled our looting bags with fruit, juice, candy, cookies & advil and handed off the goods.

The Diemonds are a Toronto based Rock N Roll band that tear up the cities with their authentic

Rock N Roll sound.Their performances take you back to the late 80's early 90's when rock was Loud N Nasty, Free N Easy. If

you're lucky, and I'm sure you are, you'll be able to catch them out on tour.

But how often do we stop and say a TRUE "Thank You" to those who contribution to OUR welfare? and "Thank You" for the wonderfulllll service they provide...

Well... it was about TIME! So that's just what we did...we headed out to some of our favorite local services, shops, offices, restaurants etc. to give a little THANKS!

I am sure most of you have heard by now about the devastating earthquake that has affected the people of Haiti. The worst in more then 200 years,it has left the country in shambles.

An earthquake is the last thing the desperately poor nation of Haiti needs. We are all in a position to help with relief efforts. I encourage everyone to do something...do anything. We live in a country of abundance, it's our duty as loving human beings to lend a hand. We are in the works of collaborating with some friends in Toronto working on some fundraising ideas and will spread the word as soon as we know how you can help. In the meantime you can text Haiti to 45678 and a 5 dollar donation will be made to the Salvation Army (BUT from what i have heard this only works with Rogers and Bell..as of right now).

There is something very magical and mesmerizing about christmas.

We will be the first to admit to pumping the christmas tunes in late October and pulling out the lights well before December just to get a kick start on that "Oh So Good Feeling". Perhaps it is the spirit of giving that makes people, happier, friendlier and more joyous during the

christmas season.

Every year we try

to choose a few organizations and donate either money, gifts or time. This year we are very fortunate to have a friend traveling to a third world country (to help build a school and educate children to use computers..."GO KARMEN") who can pass on our donations directly to those in need. We got together some essential needs for the women and children of Thailand(as well as plenty of fun treats) and passed them along for the giving.

A few dollars spent here and there on things like toiletries, school and art supplies will surely go miles in a country where poverty runs rampant. Another popular donation these days is giving the gift of education.

For only 60 dollars you can give a girl the opportunity to go to school and realize her potential. (www.catalogue.worldvision.ca) The food bank is another obvious organization that is in desperate need of donations during the Christmas season

Its pretty quick n easy it to drop a couple of toonies or a bill in one of the many donation baskets that we see while bustling around the malls and streets. Money is quick and easy but there are also many creative ways to give during the holidays. We pass by the same people day in and day out, at work, on the bus at the coffee shop, wherever, and Christmas is the perfect opportunity to make a bit of a connection and give them a little gift.

We put together some assorted teas and ornaments and are handing them out to these familiar

faces. Its a nice excuse to stop and say "Hi".

So yes we CrAnK the tunes in October, set up lights in November and decorate straight through till the end of December, we surround ourselves with all things Christmas and have gotten pretty good at creating some unique and colorful decorations for friends and family. This year we decided to go non-traditional and put a bit of a spin on the common wreath.

It was super fun to make and ever more fun to give away.

Why not take that old green wreath, decorate it with something new and slap it on a friends front door??? Make some extra baking and slip it in a neighbors mailbox,

grab your shovel and help that lady or gent across the street with the snow, give the gift of peace and refuse to react to that erratic driver or the pushy salesman, just get out there and DO SOMETHING... DO ANYTHING.

I assure you it will be greatly appreciated and it will start a wave of generosity that will touch the souls of many..including yourself. We wish you the BEST DECEMBER EVER. Relax, enjoy the passing moments and give.

Goodies to Warm your Soul and Brighten your Spirit

The holiday season is quickly approaching and if that means anything, it means friends getting together and people shopping (perfect lovely looting conditions)

Hurrrrray, Holiday Season!

We took our basket, "filled" to the rim with hot chocolate and tea mixes and headed out. Our first stop was the Western Development Museum.

It was a jackpot of lovely ladies bustling around & shopping. Our offer of something warm and tasty was well received and gave them the perfect excuse to sit down and relax.

Next we headed to Market Mall and passed the basket around mall merchants and patrons.

Our supply of treats seemed endless... so we decided to continue our looting in the the parking lot, slipping something other then a flyer or parking ticket onto windshields. In a matter of minutes the basket was once again empty and ready for the next lovely loot.

Throughout the holidays its important to stay relaxed, be healthy and enjoy the passing moments, what better way to do that then to sit down, take a break and have a warm cup of tea or a tasty mug of hot chocolate. We hope those of you who received lovely loot today did just that.

Now that our garden is tucked away under a blanket of leaves and the hammock is retired to the garage we find ourselves with a lot more free time on our hands. Time, that we feel could be used to brighten someones day. This go around we're doing it for the CATS. We feel a connection to cats (and all animals) and enjoy brightening their day just as much as we do yours. We decided to take our spare time and put some energy into making CAT TOYS and TREATS for the less fortunate.

We sewed together old pieces of clothes, stuffed them with homegrown, sundried catnip and donated them to Saskatoon Street Cats. SCAT is an organization that promotes the implementation of feral cat population through the TNR program (Trap/Neuter/Release). They take in street kittens and distribute them to foster homes run by volunteers where they are socialized and hopefully adopted out! They rely on the kindness of strangers to help them be the success that they are.

Pets give us years of companionship, they make our houses into homes and give us nothing less then pure unconditional love. Lets do what we can to help insure that every stray animal is given the chance to live their best life possible.

Summer has faded and fall has seeped in, the air is chilled, the days are shorter and everything has fallen back a pace and slowed down. Its time to collect our harvest and prepare for the winter months, canning and freezing, preserving and dehydrating. Every year trying to come up with something new, creative and tasty. This year we came across Prairie Berry Jam and Saskatoon Berry Honey.

Lovely Loot gathered the preserves and headed off to gift a group of seven sisters who have a yearly tradition they call "Sisters Day".

A time to reflect on the past year and celebrate family. The best part about harvest is sharing the bounty with others, it was our pleasure to spread some sugar and spice and everything nice to these beautiful sisters. Hope you enjoyed it ladies!

Sweet Earth Farms is sweet indeed

On a beautiful farm nestled between the forest, mountains and the ocean lives a community of happy, healthy, organic plants on a piece of land known as Sweet Earth Farms. It's run by a young couple who farms and works with the earth in the most gentle manner I have ever witnessed. There are no tractors to be seen and no weed killer for miles. Its hands on earth and earth on hands. They have a vivid colorful vision of their land in the future and it was my pleasure to be a part of it

Using compost, cardboard and grass bits we built cozy nests around the tree seedling that will eventually become the fruits of their labor in the orchard style garden they are creating.

Eagles soar overhead, deer scamper just beyond the fences, spiders write out their stories in webs that glisten between peach and nectarine trees. Lovely Loots general purpose is to brighten others day, but in this case it was most definitely the reverse. By donating some time, a pair of willing hands and putting my farming roots to use we succeeded in picking a perfect crop of the most beautiful veggies I have ever seen. Once market day came it was an honor to sit behind the stand and watch as people eagerly came up to purchase their produce for the week.

In return for my time I was treated to the freshest melange of veggies at every meal, got to eat figs straight from the beautiful trees they grow on and learned a great deal about the return of being gentle with the earth. It was a Lovely Loot that wont soon be forgotten.

Thats right, we sent out fortune notes to random people and businesses who WE feel brighten other peoples day. Wheather it be a flower shop with beautiful bouquets that inspire, a yoga studio that brings solitude and peace to the community, a talented musician that makes you want to dance, a couple of tattoo artists who make you proud to bare your skin, a small cafe with heartwarming goods, a store that is dedicated to keeping our planet healthy and green, or some good friends that just make you happy. Lovely looting has thus far consisted of a variety of handouts to random beautiful strangers...until now. We decided to switch things up a bit,broaden our horizons and experiment with different acts of kindness. Saskatoon has a growing display of beautiful street art, be it a colorful wall of graffiti, a bold stencil with a clear message, a poem painted on a fence, or just a few beautifully painted rocks, its art, and it's there for US to enjoy.

So off we headed with paints, brushes, a hint of creativity and just sorta let the brushes do the looting for us.

Painting rocks(water soluble, environmentally friendly paints of course) along the river bed for wanderers to enjoy. It was a perfect way to spend a late summers day. Next time you are crossing the Broadway bridge or walking along the Meewasin Trail, take a look at the art around you. Whether you decide to add to what exsists or create your own, we hope you enjoy the gift.

EXAM's SUCK!!!

Boy… Exams really doooo suck! So we decided to head out to the U of S again to spread some cheer with “Life Savers” ! Although, we wish were able to help out more than just a candy! Phew…that chemistry looked haaard! In any case, when you are studying hard, it’s nice to have a little treat and a friendly warm reminder that you will survive the stress of these exams.

p.s. sorry to the librarian who has to pick up after us!

Lucky Charms are more then just a sugary cereal...

We have both been students and if we remember one thing about school, we remember the brutal feeling of exams. I mean all the added stress, the papers, never enough hours in the day and definitely never enough hours in the night... no time to eat and very little time to think about anything other then Bio molecular Structures,Chemical Engineering ,Bioresource Policy, Business and Economics and so on. Uggg! And bad luck would have it you get sick or are stuck next to a sniffling classmate during your toughest exam..AHHH, Yeah we don't miss it!
As a result... we have these stressed out students, tired, thirsty and hungry. Soooo, What can WE do for THEM....???
"Feed them sugar, give them energy, attache a little bit of hope and call it all a lucky charm." And THAT is exactly what we did!!!

What happens when two girls with a million ideas, decide to wonder down the baking isle?..... "CUPCAKES"!!!! Yessss.... So there you have it, we knew one thing for sure... we were making Cupcakes... and there was going to be icing involved, beautiful fancy spring icing!!! And the fun began!!!

To no surprise the cupcakes were a hit. Broadway was first on our Map, the merchants were more then happy to accept the sugary treats and send us along our way with a smile. We traveled to few other businesses and handed out the remaining loot to any kid that crossed our path.

Millions of ideas run through our heads daily, we are always coming up with new creations and fun things to do... however, when this idea came up, handing out Lovely Loot to strangers, it was a perfect way for us to do both things, create and have fun while hopefully brightening a few peoples days along the way! Thankfully, we have both been on the receiving end of strangers unexpected kindnesses and we know that it's sometimes all it takes to brighten someone’s day. So we wanted to pass that on… and besides, It’s FUN!
